Prevent Buckling Mobile Home Walls
Your mobile home should be level. Initial settling of the home can alter this and soil movement, and settling can do the same. Your home's weight will be unevenly distributed if it is not level, causing floors and walls to buckle. Superior Mobile Home Service LLC will relevel your mobile home safely and efficiently. Re-leveling
Many people don't understand what mobile home releveling is or the importance of it. Mobile homes and manufactured homes are all set up the same. The home is built on a steel frame. The axles and wheels that are used to transport the home are connected to the bottom of this frame. Once the house is set in place, it is leveled with hydraulic jacks. Concrete blocks or steel piers are then placed under the steel frame to keep it secure. The wheels are usually removed. The concrete blocks or steel piers sit on the dirt. In the Southwestern United States, mobile homes typically rest on earth instead of concrete slabs.Because the home is sitting on earth, it will settle. All new mobile homes or manufactured homes need to be releveled from time to time. Hydraulic jacks are used to relevel the home, and we recommend that the supports or piers be tightened or adjusted every three to five years.
Problems
Some visible signs that your home is not level involve buckling mobile home walls and floors. Doors won't latch, or they rub. The skirting is buckling or bent, and cracks appear in the walls or ceilings.
Lifting a manufactured or mobile home with a hydraulic jack is much more expensive than going under the home every three to five years and maintaining the level by tightening all the supports.
